Yet More Salsa in Popayan

Popayan is a well-known city because of its beautiful colonial architecture and its contributions to Colombian cultural and political life. It is affectionately called the "white city" due to the colour of most of the colonial houses.

We have discovered that Colombians are quite a small race. Poor Heather feels a bit like Gulliver in Lilliput, towering over all the locals. This feeling was highly accentuated when we went to locate ATM's, with keypads set at a ridiculously low height - however it proved great entertainment for us, and the locals.

Had a free Salsa class in the hostel's tiny TV room which provided a sweaty two hours of intense workout and side splitting laughter. Absolutely shattered by the end of the lesson though. We put our moves into practice later that night on heading to a local bar - I even managed to drag Pete out for two dances (which Kirsten tells me is an unbelievable feat with 2009 being the last time he took to the dance floor).
